TITLE OF POSITION: Lead Teacher - Non-Certificated DIRECTLY RESPONSIBLE TO: KidsCare Program Director KidsCare Site Director

 

GENERAL DESCRIPTION: As a member of the KidsCare team, you will be working in SPCS elementary schools during the school year, Monday-Friday 6:30-8:15am/ 3:00-6:00pm. Our goal is to greet families and children daily, and establish and maintain positive relationships in a safe, fun environment. You will lead enrichment and STEM activities, group games, outside play…and the occasional classic board game.  Willing to offer Flexible Hours/ Schedule.

 

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR:  A sincere desire and interest in working with children. Leadership and communication skills to manage and appropriately interact with groups of children. Ability to uphold program policies and procedures. Must be willing to provide availability to work snow and non-school days- 7am.-5pm.

 

REQUIREMENTS: Must be at least 18 years of age and of good moral character.  Pass background checks and must meet ONE of the following requirements outlined in the DHHS Licensing Handbook:

 

1. Hold a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in early childhood education, education or child/youth development;

2. Hold an associate degree from an accredited college or university in early childhood education, education or child/youth development;

3. Have a Child Development Associate Credential; or

4. Have a high school diploma or GED; and

     (1) 1500 verified clock hours of experience in organized group activities for school-age children as indicated by a positive reference from a former employer or supervisor; or

     (2) Submit a written plan for Department approval to acquire at least three credit hours or 45 clock hours of training in administration, early childhood education, education, or child/youth development, in a period not to exceed six months. The licensee must maintain a copy of the written plan and Department approval for Department review.  Willing to take 12 hours of annual training including CPR/First Aid Certification and must complete Pediatric CPR and First Aid and Prepare to Care trainings.  Ability to react and move quickly, indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions and otherwise fully participate in activities with children.
